Business Overview | As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Program Overview | The Corporate Risk Development Program provides you with an introduction to Wells Fargo and an opportunity to gain comprehensive industry experience. You will build a deep understanding of the company's operations, business strategies, and corporate culture through speaking engagements, relevant work assignments and group mentoring. You will also receive coaching and performance feedback sessions, participate in group projects and informative learning sessions with key leaders. The 2-year rotational program is designed to provide recent college graduates with a blend of business and career developmental training opportunities that incorporates real-world experiences through on-the-job learning and professional development to help you successfully transition from college to corporate life at Wells Fargo.

In this role, you will:

·Participate in a variety of assigned and ongoing business operations to ensure success in meeting business goals and objectives

·Identify opportunities for process improvement by conducting root cause testing of all compliance and business metrics

·Determine areas of strength or Business Execution opportunity within defined scope of work

·Review and research strategies and action plans to establish effective processes while meeting performance metrics and policy expectations

·Utilize independent judgment to guide moderate risk deliverables

·Present recommendations to develop, implement, and monitor strategic approaches, effectiveness of support function, and business performance improvement opportunities for managing risks of the business

·Exercise independent judgment and provide guidance in diverse support functions and operations for a single business group within a line of business

·Collaborate and consult with leaders and executive management

·Provide work direction to less experienced Strategy and Execution staff

Responsibilities may include:

  • Participate in provide consulting, and support for projects and initiatives with moderate risk

  • Effectively work with internal stakeholders, lines of business, enterprise risk groups and risk partners

  • Execution on strategic priorities and reporting

  • Manipulating and analyzing large complex datasets with a programming language such as SAS, SQL and/or Python

  • Work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment

  • Proactively identify and resolve compliance matters

  • Identifying risks and/or gaps through trending analysis and report results to stakeholders

  • Build and sustain relationships with peers, Executive Office and business partners

  • Provide strategic support to risk and control teams in coordination and execution of initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate effectively in both a face-to-face and virtual environment

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 6+ months of Business Operations, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree candidate with an expected graduation in December 2024 – May/June 2025 in the fields of one or more of the following: IT, STEM, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting and/or Analytics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Strong analytic and/or process skills including manipulating data using SAS, SQL, and/or Python

  • Knowledge and/or experience in compliance, operational risk, and/or experience in the financial services industry

  • Demonstrated leadership

  • Ability to take on a prominent level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

Program start date: July 2025

Program Duration: 24-months, rotational

Program Location: Charlotte, NC
